Career
David Marín is a new painter who has recently entered the world of visual arts. His work is based on translating serial images of domestic scenes and a unique imaginary world created from his experience as a journalist and theater professional. His career as a columnist began at the local magazine Grama and has expanded over time with radio work and as a columnist for the “Punt Diari”.
In the field of performing arts, it is worth noting his experience as a member of La Fura dels Baus between 1995 and 2006. Now, he is embarking on a new chapter, venturing into the world of visual arts. Thus, with an intimate tone, references accumulated from the cultural sphere, his everyday surroundings, and events that affect us collectively, begin to appear in his artistic series.
He recently participated in the BesArt project, along the banks of the Besòs river, creating a 20×3 meter mural entitled Caretus, depicting grotesque faces in the style of Picasso as a tribute to the artist on the 50th anniversary of his death.
The exhibition we present, MENINAS and Company, is part of a series of watercolors begun in 2020, during the height of the pandemic lockdown, and on which she has worked continuously ever since. The MENINAS exhibition marks a continuation of the countless projects made possible by her dedication and work in the cultural field.
