Career
Eva Armisén (Zaragoza,1969)
She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and continued her studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. She was awarded a grant by the Joan and Pilar Miró Foundation in Palma de Mallorca and currently lives and works in Barcelona.
Her work focuses on capturing everyday life as an extraordinary space. With a vitalistic and deeply human perspective, Armisén transforms simple daily scenes into emotional and universal moments. Her work invites viewers to recognize the beauty of what is close to us and the strength of shared emotions.
Painting and printmaking are the artist’s most frequent mediums, but the distinctive nature of her visual language has led her to collaborate on a wide range of projects, including public art installations, advertising campaigns, film, television, and editorial projects.
In 2016, she participated in the candidacy of the Haenyeo, the legendary women divers of Jeju Island, for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status. In 2017, she illustrated the book Mom is a Haenyeo, dedicated to their history and cultural legacy.
Her international presence has continued to grow over the last two decades, with solo and group exhibitions in cities such as Seoul, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, Lisbon, Taipei, Shanghai, and Melbourne. Among her most notable exhibitions are those held at the Hangaram Museum, Seoul Arts Center (Seoul, South Korea), CMay Gallery (Los Angeles, USA), La Lonja (Zaragoza, Spain), the Sejong Museum of Art (Seoul, South Korea), and the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona.
