Career

Ana María Herrera, known as Killa.ek, is a muralist, designer, illustrator, and workshop facilitator from Quito, Ecuador, based in Barcelona, Spain since 2019.

Killa’s work is an exploration of totemic animals and hybrid flora, the relationship of women with nature and the everyday. Her universes are created in a warm-cold contrast with the intention of generating sensitivity, reflection, and new imaginaries in the viewer.

In addition, Killa collaborates with Las Migras de Abya Yala, a dynamic collective of Latin American women seeking to open new spaces for the arts and feminisms of the Global South. She also leads the Urban Art as Collective Expression workshop, aiming to create safe spaces for reflection on actions related to urban art.
