Description of the art
The location of BesArt The River Museum brought back memories of the time I lived in Berlin during the pandemic. While struggling with depression and isolation, far from home, I found comfort spending time along the banks of the Spree canals near my house. As spring arrived, the dry weeds and winter leaves slowly turned into tall grass, wildflowers and native poppies in bloom. I would often bring a book and a blanket to lie on the grass and simply contemplate life, soaking up the sun. Watching everything come back to life in spring gave me moments of peace and calm.
Poppies also carry a symbolic value here: they are flowers that thrive in difficult conditions. I draw a parallel between the riverside location of Sant Adrià de Besòs and the healing power of nature, which thrives and blooms in any circumstance, despite our urban surroundings.
