Career
David Marín is a novice painter who has just entered the world of visual arts. His work is based on transferring serialised images of domestic scenes and a unique imaginary created from his experience as a journalist and theatre man. His career as a columnist began at the local magazine Grama and has since expanded through radio work and as a columnist for the online newspaper “Diari”.
In the field of the performing arts, his experience as a member of “Fura dels Baus” between 1995 and 2006 should be noted. He is now opening a new chapter by moving into the world of the visual arts. It is thus that, with an intimate tone, the accumulated references from the realm of culture, his most everyday environment, or the events that affect us collectively, begin to appear in his artistic series.
Recently, as part of the BesArt project on the banks of the Besòs River, they created a 20 by 3-metre art entitled Caretus, which depicts picassian grotesques faces as a tribute to the artist on the 50th anniversary of his death.
The exhibition we present to you, MENINAS and company, is part of a series of watercolours begun in 2020, at the height of the pandemic lockdown, and on which the artist has worked continuously to the present day. The MENINAS exhibition is a continuing project among the countless others that have been made possible by their involvement and work in the cultural field.
