Ana María Herrera, known as Killa.ek, is a muralist, designer, illustrator and workshop facilitator from Quito, Ecuador, based in Barcelona, Spain since 2019.
Killa’s work is an exploration of totemic animals and hybrid flora, the woman’s relationship with nature and the everyday. Her universes are created in a warm-cold contrast with the intention of evoking sensitivity, reflection and new imaginaries in the audience.
In addition, Killa collaborates with Les Migres de Abya Yala, a dynamic collective of Latin American women seeking to open new spaces for the arts and feminisms of the Global South. She also runs the Urban Art as Collective Expression workshop, aiming to create safe spaces for reflection on actions related to urban art.
