Career
Javier Mariscal is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist and designer, recognized for his creative, free and casual style, with a strong foundation in drawing.
He began in the 1970s in the world of comics, actively participating in the Movida movement and standing out with characters like Los Garriris. His move into design was consolidated with projects such as the “Barcelona” logo (1979) and the Duplex stool, presented at the Memphis Group exhibition in Milan.
In 1989 he founded Estudio Mariscal, a pioneer in Spain for its multidisciplinary approach. His most famous work is Cobi, the symbol of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
Throughout her career, she has worked in graphic, product, interior, and art design, collaborating with international brands, institutions, and exhibitions such as the Centre Pompidou. She has received prestigious awards, including the National Design Award (1999).
He has also ventured into animated films alongside Fernando Trueba, with films such as Chico and Rita and They Shot the Piano Player.
