Location of the East Wall art

Description of the art

This art piece was created with the intention of laying the foundations for a new kind of muralism, serving as inspiration for new generations of mural artists. Far removed from the visual noise and stress of the false technical virtuosity influenced by North American art, simplicity, silence, and visual emotion give Ilúm a new way of creating, where color and geometry communicate a synthetic-cryptic message. A message directed at the subconscious and the soul, a pause for observation and contemplative meditation.

Two figures open a dimensional portal of infinite perspective, its limits defined only by the observer’s imagination—an invitation to the visitor’s mental creativity. Covered in small, recycled elements, where the tyranny of spray paint is relegated to an anecdotal, testimonial, and humiliating role, the bottom of the spray can decorates the wall.

Complemented by wooden birdhouses, celebrating the connection with the surrounding nature.
The mural was created entirely with two paintbrushes, without masking tape or scaffolding, using sewing thread as a guide.
